Beef – well, maybe it shouldn’t be called beef – from a petri dish.

Of course, if this goes where I think it will – a future with all sorts of meats economically grown from stem cells – then it means livestock will likely go extinct. So here’s the question for the environmental types to ponder: what’s better, a world with no (or very few) livestock farms or a world with no livestock?

(And yes, I encourage you to think about what this means for jobs. Who will lose their jobs and who will gain new jobs? And which jobs – those gained or those lost – will be better?)
