The tradeoff: Weekly visibility on national television, many millions of dollars per year in salary in exchange for having to take prescription and non-prescription pain medicine because the NFL is painful.

I’m not saying it’s an easy choice, but it’s a choice and everybody knows it. I have no sympathy for this nonsense. If you don’t want to have to take a bunch of drugs to get through the pain then don’t. Quit.

And there are lots of other jobs with similar trade offs. And there is no reason to think that the behavior of any of these players will somehow spill over into the rest of society. It’s not “about the children”.
