I’m not a fan of Jack Lew as Treasury Secretary. He doesn’t understand that the US has a spending problem, not a revenue problem.

But this “criticism” from Chuck Grassley is completely off-base:

“The Treasury secretary can’t owe anyone on Wall Street any favors,” Grassley said in a statement. “He has to be independent from special interests and put taxpayers first.”

Uh, Chuck, everybody – in Washington, in the US, in the world, everywhere – has special interests. Nobody is independent of them.
