An absolutely amazing story (like, wouldn’t believe it if it was a movie, but have to believe it because it’s real kinda story) about an information ring – being run inside of a jail – whose sole purpose is to acquire information that other prisoners could buy so that they could then become informants and have their sentences reduced.
Also interesting to think about the effective class system that this creates in the jailhouse. If you’ve got money to buy information, you can get out of jail (not for free, but still out). And if you’ve got information, you can get very rich (well, maybe not rich, but you can make money).
