Need a break from election coverage…

Naked Mole rats don’t get cancer. Their cells, it turns out, have a proactive cell death mechanism. Most creatures only have a “reactive” cell death mechanism and if that mechanism fails, then, sometimes, cancer results. Turns out that mole rats actually have cells that figure out if there are too many other similar cells, and if there are, they die.

Maybe there should be something like this for voting…once a certain number of people have voted, enough such that 1) the group is likely to be statistically representative of the entire population) and 2) the group is large enough such than individual vote no longer matters, then people are prevented from wasting their time voting. Proactive “stop wasting your time” voting feedback…
