Seniors, it seems, are getting more knee replacements than ever.

The article asks this question: “What’s going on with the Medicare set?”

The article focuses on the improvements in the technology and the procedure (infection rates notwithstanding).

Uh, or, it could be that seniors are just taking advantage of the “free” stuff given them by the government at the expense of other people (namely, tax payers). Should tax payers really be paying for elective procedures like knee replacements? Insurance should NEVER be used to cover elective procedures (indeed, it’s a contradiction of the meaning of the term “insurance” for it to cover anything that’s not an unforeseeable incident/accident). Such is the case for auto insurance. Such is the case for home insurance. And both of these types of insurance are very inexpensive.
