Public transportation doesn’t work. New York City’s public transportation system loses nearly $1B (that B as in billion) per year. San Francisco’s BART loses about $300M.
But private buses might work. Mark Perry alerts us to a company that is giving it a go.
The great thing about this story is that two things can happen: 1) it can fail and the company can go out of business. End of story, no public budget deficits. Or 2) it can succeed and make money. End of story, no public budget deficits. So why do we do this government thing anyway?
